£12m Arsenal target gives out a clue on his move after his club got relegated.
Today, following Southampton’s relegation, rumored Arsenal transfer target Kyle Walker-Peters addressed the press.
Next season, the Saints will compete in the National Football Championship. Today’s 2-0 home loss to Fulham compounded an already miserable season at St. Mary’s.
And after the contest, former Tottenham player Walker-Peters seemed to hint that he may be leaving.
Kyle Walker-Peters to join Arsenal?
Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal will attempt to recruit Walker-Peters this summer.
The Athletic reported that the Gunners observers were impressed by the Southampton player, and with Arsenal seeking new full-back options, he is being considered.
Obviously, Walker-Peters’ ties to Tottenham could complicate his decision to sign with Arsenal.
Alex Crook of thesoccerstand verified he spoke with the right-back following today’s Southampton game, regardless of where he ends up. And during that conversation, the Southampton man seemed to imply he might be leaving.
Southampton paid Spurs approximately £12 million to acquire Walker-Peters. Since then, he has established himself as a premier Premier League right back.
Consequently, it goes without saying that he will likely be one of Southampton’s most sought-after players.
Kyle Walker-Peters is a talented athlete. As with other Saints players, he is undoubtedly overqualified for the Championship.

However, he must demonstrate a resolve to improve. As a member of the team that was relegated, he must share the same responsibility as everyone else.
In terms of Arsenal’s interest, it is understandable why they are so eager. However, Walker-Peters would need to significantly improve in order to play regularly for the Gunners.
If he’s going to be available on the inexpensive, however, Arsenal would be wise to acquire him. And based on Crook’s update, it appears that ‘KWP’ is eager to move on.
