Following his departure from Leicester City, Jonny Evans is currently participating in training with Manchester United.

After being let go by Leicester City at the end of the last campaign, Jonny Evans is reportedly keeping himself in shape by training with Manchester United. This was reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Evans was a member of the Leicester City team that finished last season in the bottom three of the Premier League. Due to his physical problems, he was only able to participate in 13 league games during that season.

The veteran player, who is now 35 years old, started his career as a junior player at United and remained with the club for nine years before making a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion in 2015.

The defender is now participating in training sessions at the Red Devils Academy alongside players from the first squad. The presence of a veteran player such as this might be beneficial to the younger players that are nearby.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that he is traded to a team where he’ll get more playing time and be able to make a bigger impact. If he had been healthy for the entirety of the previous season, Leicester could have had a stronger defensive record, which might have been enough to keep them from being demoted.

Evans is an excellent central defender who has a solid understanding of the game, is able to pass the ball with a high degree of accuracy, and is confident in his ability to win aerial duels inside his own box.

Even though Manchester United already has some strong choices in the central defense position, such as Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, the backup position is still open for competition.

There is a possibility that Harry Maguire will go on, and Victor Lindelof is not as talented as the first two candidates that were discussed.

Keeping this information in mind and being aware that Evans is free to play for any team that wants him, will Erik ten Hag make a move to sign the 35-year-old for one or two seasons? Regardless of whether or not he participates in each and every game, the team might stand to benefit from his extensive expertise.
