Pep Guardiola is going to have one of the most talented defenders in the world football playing for his team now that Man City and RB Leipzig have come to an agreement about the transfer of Josko Gvardiol.
The deal that was reached between the two teams has been validated by Fabrizio Romano, but the transfer amount has not been released. As the German club has been asking for at least €100 million for the center back during the entirety of the summer transfer window, it is therefore likely to be in that region.
The Croatian national team player has already reached an agreement with the Premier League champions about his personal terms. This was accomplished one month ago, and Gvardiol has finished the first part of his medical examination today in preparation for signing his contract.
At the age of 21, Gvardiol is already considered to be one of the top central defenders in the world.
This makes Gvardiol’s signing by Man City a fantastic accomplishment. During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the star player from Croatia displayed his quality to the rest of the world, and it is unsettling to consider what Pep Guardiola will be able to accomplish with such a talented player.
This is a signing that should cause concern for the other teams in the Premier League because Manchester City already has the greatest defensive line in the league, tied for first place with Newcastle.
As Guardiola’s team seeks to replicate the spectacular season they had the year before, Gvardiol will only make things more difficult for them.
