The transfer window is officially closed, and attention immediately shifts to the Premier League action this weekend. Tomorrow afternoon, Arsenal will host Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium for the contest of the week.

Overall, only a smattering of players left Mikel Arteta’s squad before the transfer deadline. Nuno Tavares secured a loan move to Nottingham Forest, while Albert Sambi Lokonga was loaned to Luton Town.

The Gunners completed the majority of their business previously in the window.

Prior to the club’s preseason journey to the United States, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice all signed before David Raya joined on loan from Brentford.

This weekend, fans will be anxious to return to the Emirates Stadium following last week’s 2-2 draw with Fulham.

In their first three games, Arteta’s squad has been far from their best, and Sunday’s match against United will be their toughest challenge to date.

Similar to Arsenal, Erik ten Hag’s squad has begun the 2023/24 season well below their usual standards.

After a fortuitous 1-0 home victory against Wolves, United performed poorly against Tottenham before salvaging a victory against Nottingham Forest last week.

However, they will be in a better position to tour north London after completing their business on the deadline day.

On Friday, United’s total number of summer recruits doubled, with Ten Hag signing a total of four players.

Altay Bayindir concluded his £4.3 million transfer from Fenerbahce earlier in the day, while Jonny Evans signed a one-year contract to return to the club.

Their two first-team signings occurred later, with Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat joining the club.

The Moroccan joins on a €10 million season-long loan. According to the Manchester Evening News, United has the option to make the transaction permanent next summer for roughly €20 million plus an additional €5 million.

On Sunday, not all of Manchester United’s new signings will be available to participate. If they are enrolled by Friday at noon, Premier League rules permit new signings to participate in the upcoming contest.

Reguilon could make his debut against Arsenal, having signed before the midday deadline.

In his pre-game press conference, Ten Hag verified that the left-back had already trained with his new teammates. “He (Reguilon) is here, and he trained,” he stated. “He will also be a part of the squad, yay!”

£72million acquisition Ramsus Hojlund is also in the running to make his club debut. As a result of a back injury, the forward has yet to play for United.

When asked about Hojlund’s availability during his pre-game press conference, the Dutchman stated, “He had a good training week.”

“Therefore, tomorrow (Saturday) is our final training session, but he’s responding well and is performing well.”So he will be available to play on Sunday.

I believe that every player is under a bright spotlight. At United, performance is required. Each and every position and athlete.

“I believe he can start. He is prepared to begin.”

Andre Onana; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Sergio Reguilon; Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes; Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund.
