Wednesday marked the return of the England captain to Hotspur Way for preseason training amid rumors regarding his future. Bayern Munich submitted an offer of €80 million (£68.3 million) for the striker, which includes add-ons. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is expected to demand much more if he even considers letting Kane depart a year before his contract expires.

This week, in his first press conference, Postecoglou made it plain that his discussions with Kane, who turns 30 this month, were never intended to convince the player to remain at Tottenham.
“I do not believe it is my responsibility to treat individuals differently based on their circumstances. “I’m a big believer in treating everyone equally, and Harry has already cemented his place in this football club’s history,” said the Australian. “He is a vital component. I want one of the best strikers in the world to be involved. My conversation with him will focus on how we can make this club prosperous, which I have no doubt he also desires.
“Therefore, within this context, whatever pertains to Harry’s private life is relevant. If the discourse moves in that direction, we will follow suit. However, I doubt that it will be defined in the way that people anticipate. This is not going to be a conversation where we leave the room with an agreement.I’d rather introduce myself to Harry and explain my vision for the football club than engage in that sort of conversation. And get a sense of what he believes the club must do to be successful, then stroll out onto the training field and attempt to make it happen.”
football.london reported last week that Spurs have offered their all-time leading scorer the chance to negotiate a massive new contract to keep him beyond the expiration of his current deal in 2024. Kane is reportedly in no hurry to sign a new contract during this transfer window as he evaluates his future options.
The striker is believed to be keeping all of his options open, regardless of whether Tottenham decides to sell him if Bayern submits a substantial offer or if they wish to retain him for the upcoming season. If the Postecoglou era proves to be a major success, it has not been ruled out that he will secure that massive new contract later in the year.
