Arsenal and Chelsea here again fighting for a talented premier league player this summer

Arsenal and Chelsea are rumored to be interested in acquiring Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo and may make an offer for the player during the summer transfer window.

The two clubs have reportedly tried and failed in the past to recruit the 21-year-old player.

In January, both London teams made a move to acquire Caicedo, but both offers were rejected by Brighton, and the Ecuadorian ended up remaining with the AMEX.

Caicedo is now playing for Brighton. Sky Sports reports that the Gunners submitted the highest proposal of £70 million, but the Seagulls continued to negotiate for a higher amount.

It is unknown how much money Brighton would need to be offered in order to part ways with the 21-year-old player during the summer, but Football Insider reports that both London teams still have interest in the player and are going to make a bid for him.

Even though the midfielder has recently signed a new contract with Brighton that extends his stay there until 2027, reports indicate that the Seagulls are prepared to entertain offers for him during the forthcoming transfer window.

Caicedo has had a really good season for Brighton thus far, and given that Mikel Arteta like to play with a double pivot, Arsenal would be the greatest fit for a player with his profile.

The 21-year-old would be an ideal match for the Gunners’ system, and considering how frequently Zinchenko ventures forward, the Brighton star would be able to provide sufficient cover.

Therefore, a move to Arsenal, should it come to fruition, could be exciting for the 21-year-old player, given the current state of affairs at Chelsea and the low likelihood that they will improve by the beginning of the following season.
