Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard gives Ramsdale prediction after he was dropped for David Raya

Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, does not expect Aaron Ramsdale to alter his ways in order to regain his starting position.

The goalkeeper, who has been a mainstay for the Gunners over the past two seasons, was benched in the victory at Everton in favor of summer recruit David Raya.

In the summer, Mikel Arteta acquired the Spanish player from Brentford and opted to transfer him to Goodison Park.

Given that Ramsdale has not committed a high-profile error or become a liability for the north Londoners, the decision aroused eyebrows. Instead, Arteta emphasized the need for his squad to include and utilize two quality goalkeepers.

Odegaard, who became a permanent member of the team in the same summer as Ramsdale, anticipates that the English will respond with their typical work ethic after praising his attitude.

He stated, “I believe he will continue to work diligently, as he always has. On Sunday, he was there supporting us, cheering for us, and assisting us. Today, by supporting the team, he demonstrated his exceptional character.

He did an outstanding job. We have two excellent goalkeepers, andacceptable competition. They possess distinct qualities.

“They are both so skilled with the ball and in goal. Therefore, we are fortunate to have two excellent goalkeepers, and we will see who starts.”

Two years ago, Arteta jettisoned Bernd Leno for Ramsdale due to his ruthlessness with regard to his No. 1 position.

The Englishman has been a member of teams that have narrowly lost out on the top four and then mounted a title challenge, but the Spaniard still desired a goalkeeper with greater quality.

He defended his decision at Everton by stating, “Historically, it has been done this way, but I cannot have two players in this position and not play them.”

David possesses exceptional qualities comparable to those of Aaron and Karl, but they must be utilized in this manner.

Arsenal welcome PSV to the Emirates as they return to the Champions League before hosting Tottenham, who are also unblemished, in a north London derby. Both games are massive contests, and Arteta’s choice of goalkeeper could prove decisive.
