Tim Akinola will not sign a permanent contract with Chesterfield FC, as Arsenal has decided he will make another summer transfer.

Tim Akinola, a midfielder for Arsenal, has spent the season on loan with National League club Chesterfield, but he is not expected to join the club permanently.

Akinola thanked Chesterfield for his loan stint on Thursday, and he has since shared images on Instagram verifying he’s back with Arsenal at London Colney.

However, according to All Nigeria Soccer, the 22-year-old will not remain in north London for long.

According to ANS, Arsenal and Akinola have reached an agreement for him to move on again this summer. This could be a temporary transfer or a permanent departure at this point.
Chesterfield’s failure to achieve promotion to the Football League is cited as the reason they are not pursing a permanent transfer for Akinola.

The midfielder impressed West Bromwich Albion with his performance against them in the FA Cup this season, and they are reportedly one of the clubs pursuing his signature this summer.

Other clubs interested in Akinola, according to ANS, include Oxford United and Gillingham, as well as teams from Austria and Israel.

Another action makes perfect logic. Akinola, who made 31 appearances for Chesterfield this season, will aim to take the next step and play more consistently next year.

The midfielder was extremely popular with the fans at his loan club, but he did not start as many games as they desired.

He would have fewer opportunities to play competitive football on a weekly basis if he returned to junior football at Arsenal, as the midfield of the first team is likely to be quite crowded next season.

The next step for Akinola will depend on the proposals Arsenal receives in the coming months.
