Ethan Nwaneri, the youngest player in Premier League history, is considering leaving Arsenal for a Premier League rival.

In September, at the age of 15 years and 181 days, Nwaneri made history when he entered the game as a substitute in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Brentford.

The midfielder’s juvenile registration expires at the end of the month, and it is currently unknown if he will sign a new contract.

If Nwaneri leaves the Emirates, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all ready to sign him. Mikel Arteta is eager for the player to devote his future to Arsenal after praising his record-setting performance.

Although Nwaneri hasn’t played for Arteta’s side since the Brentford victory, he has 17 caps for England’s U17 team and has appeared twice in the EFL Trophy for Arsenal’s U23 team. He also began Arsenal’s 5-1 loss to West Ham in the FA Youth Cup final in April.

The Athletic reports that Chelsea, City, and United are all intently observing Nwaneri’s situation. The loss of Omari Hutchinson to Chelsea a year ago continues to haunt Arsenal, as the winger made his Premier League debut in January.

Nwaneri is the youngest player in the history of the English football top division, not just the Premier League.

In August 1964, Sunderland goalkeeper Derek Foster played against Leicester at the age of 15 years and 185 days.
Arteta astonished English soccer when he selected Nwaneri against Brentford.

The manager of Arsenal explained, “We have opportunities to promote young players.” We are a small group, and opportunities arise when problems arise. It was a genuine intuition.

“I met the boy, and I admired what I saw very much. He trained with us on multiple occasions.

Yesterday, I had the sense that if the opportunity presented itself, I would take action. He merits it. He has been doing terrific. He is such a tremendous talent that we wish to retain him.”

Arsenal supporters chanted “he’s going to school in the morning” when Nwaneri entered the game, but they may not be as ebullient if he joins a rival club.

The Gunners need all the assistance they can get in order to contend for trophies.

The previous season, Arsenal finished second in the Premier League after losing the title contest to Manchester City.

The Gunners are eager to end their 20-year wait for English football’s most prestigious trophy in May 2024, but it will be challenging.

Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea are anticipated to rebound next season after failing to qualify for the Champions League, while Manchester United and Newcastle will look to improve upon their respective third and fourth place finishes.
