Arsenal midfielder reveals why teammates are in the dark over Declan Rice information
Jorginho, an Arsenal star, has confessed that he and his teammates do not know when Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber will join the club.
The Gunners are nearing deals for both players as Mikel Arteta attempts to get his team’s transfer business rolling. A record transfer fee for Rice was agreed upon by West Ham eight days ago, but the Hammers are growing impatient with the deal’s sluggish progress.
Timber is expected to join the Gunners in a £40 million transfer from Ajax, with Arsenal outbidding Manchester United. The Emirates’ transfer officials appear to be keeping the details of the double transfer under covers.
This intelligence comes from Jorginho, who joined Arteta’s team in the January transfer window from Chelsea. The Italian has disclosed that neither Rice nor Timber’s arrival date has been communicated to the team.
On the social media app The Residency, which enables fans to communicate with footballers, he was being questioned. One Arsenal supporter inquired of the midfielder, “Jorginho, when are Rice and Timber joining?”
However, they were left dissatisfied when the Italian international responded, “Good query. No clue”, accompanied by three laughing emoticons. The admission of Jorginho comes as West Ham grows impatient with the sluggish progress of Rice’s transfer.
The contracts between West Ham and Arsenal have not yet been inked, as the Gunners’ attorneys are still preparing the paperwork. Rice is believed to have passed his medical, with only the contracts remaining to be signed before he joins Arteta’s team.
Arteta is presently in Germany, having brought his players there for a training camp before flying to the United States on Sunday for a preseason tour. Arsenal hopes to have confirmed his presence by then, while Arteta remains silent.
“I cannot discuss individuals who are not currently on the team. I prefer to remain silent. “At Arsenal, we are always interested in young players with experience,” the Arsenal manager told Marca earlier this summer.
“I reiterate, I’m not referring to players from other organizations, but in the case of Kai [Havertz], he has already demonstrated a great deal, including winning the Champions League. The squad has already been regenerated, with a very youthful average, in order to generate performance and value.
“We have some owners who share our vision: to create a winning team that can be sustained over time with minimal investment. However, the demand is rising, and you must go to the market to acquire what we lack in order to continue developing.
“The investment point is one, and revaluation may be more important: how much a player you purchase will be worth in ‘x’ years. There are investments that offer a return and revaluation. This is our strategy for self-sufficiency.”
