Arsenal’s summer transfer hopes to sign West Ham star Declan Rice may have taken a significant blow after Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel spoke openly about a possible transfer.

Rice appears destined to leave the Hammers at the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign. Bayern Munich and Arsenal appear to be the two dominant clubs in the summer race for Rice.

Despite the conclusion of the Premier League season last weekend, West Ham still has one more match to play against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final.

According to football.london, Arsenal’s top priority signing objective this summer is Rice, who could send the perfect farewell message by winning a European trophy.

There is no assurance that West Ham’s valuation demand of £120 million will result in Rice leaving before the start of the 2023/24 season, despite the fact that he has only one year remaining on his contract.

Rice is one of Bayern Munich’s summer transfer targets. The Gunners’ owner Stan Kroenke is expected to provide substantial financial support, but Bayern Munich are also capable of spending large sums of money and are also interested in signing Rice.

The 24-year-old seems most likely to remain in England, but a move to Germany is absolutely possible, according to the most recent report.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, Rice and Tuchel spoke on the phone a few days ago, with the Hammers captain being “open” to a transfer to Bayern.

He stated on Twitter, “There was a phone conversation with Tuchel a few days ago! According to reports, the conversation was impressive. Both value one another.

Rice is willing to play for Bayern and Tuchel. FCB desires to increase their efforts immediately. He’s still a transfer target. However, time is running out as he may sign with Arsenal.”

According to Plettenberg, Rice’s transfer to Arsenal remains the most probable scenario this summer, but the club will need to act swiftly if it hopes to acquire its summer target.

The club is preparing a formal offer of £92 million, which is likely to be made after West Ham’s European final on June 7.

The Mirror now claims that the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions are preparing a £95m package offer for Rice, which is £3m more than what appears to be Arsenal’s first formal bid.
