Arsenal squad disclosed for Newcastle blow as Mikel Arteta makes Gabriel’s conclusion

Today, Arsenal will face Newcastle United in an attempt to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.

Following yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Leeds United by Manchester City, Mikel Arteta’s squad is now four points behind the league leaders with 34 league games remaining.

Four games remain for the two title contenders, and the Gunners’ first is a difficult one as they travel to St. James’ Park to face the Magpies.

In January of this season, Arsenal and Newcastle played to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium. In January of last year, Arsenal lost 2-0 on Tyneside.

If the visitors win this contest, they will secure a top-two finish for the season, a feat they have not accomplished since finishing second to Leicester City in 2016.

On Tuesday evening, the Gunners ended a four-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory over London rivals Chelsea, courtesy of a brace from Martin Odegaard and a goal from Gabriel Jesus.

Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off in the second half after sustaining what appeared to be an injury.

According to football.london, he left the field due to an ankle injury before receiving treatment in the locker room.

Upon leaving the Emirates Stadium, he conducted post-match media duties with international broadcasters as customary.

“We will have to see how he is tomorrow,” Arteta stated during his Friday press conference. He was unable to complete the game, which is evidently a significant indicator.

We will determine his condition tomorrow. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are also long-term absentees for the north London club, as William Saliba remains incapacitated with a lower back injury.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are also out for an extended period of time.

With that in mind, here is a look at the complete roster Arteta has available for the match on Tyneside.

Goalkeepers: Aaron Ramsdale, Matt Turner, Karl Hein.

Defenders: Ben White, *Gabriel Magalhaes (doubt), Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Lino Sousa, Jakub Kiwior.

Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith Rowe, Matt Smith, Amario Cozier-Duberry, and Ethan Nwanei are the team’s midfielders.

Forwards: Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus.
