Arsenal star has dropped a tip over his immediate Arsenal future amid contract worries.

William Saliba has left a significant hint about his future with Arsenal amidst contract rumors.

Under Mikel Arteta, Saliba has had a breakout season, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s top defenders.

However, a back injury he sustained in March against Sporting Lisbon has hampered his development.

In the absence of the Frenchman, Manchester City has surpassed Arsenal in the league standings, diminishing the Gunners’ title chances.

Saliba has yet to sign a new contract at the Emirates, with his current agreement set to expire in 2024 after the club exercised the option to extend it by an additional year.

Last month, transfer specialist David Ornstein provided a concerning update on the situation.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel Five, Ornstein disclosed, “We haven’t heard any indication that a deal is imminent or in place for that [Saliba’s contract].”

“It kind of highlights his importance since he’s been out, and that may factor into the contract negotiation, but for the time being Arsenal will have to do without him,” he continued.

However, according to a cursory examination of his social media accounts, Saliba appears to be planning his long-term future in north London.

French retailer Sport-Protech posted a succession of images on Instagram depicting the installation of a new home gym at Saliba’s London residence, suggesting the 22-year-old has no plans to leave Arsenal this summer.

The project includes a treadmill, exercise bike, and bench press, as well as a framed photograph of Michael Jordan and another Shelby sibling from Peaky Blinders.

Saliba’s return to action before the conclusion of the season is uncertain, as Arteta is keeping his cards close to his chest, per usual.

The Arsenal manager stated prior to Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea, “He will not play tomorrow.” We will not know where we stand until the next game.”

Arsenal must win their upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle in order to have any hope of dethroning Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
