Arsenal suffers regarding Jurrien Timber injury blow
In his first game in the Premier League for Arsenal, Jurrien Timber was only able to play for a little under half an hour before suffering an injury that caused him to depart the game.
After 49 minutes of play, with Arsenal leading Nottingham Forest 2-0, the Nottingham Forest players sharply pulled up off the ball.
It was only his second appearance for the Gunners, since he had previously participated in the Gunners’ victory over Manchester City in the Community Shield prior to the beginning of the season.
Worryingly, though, he was unable to complete the game because he sustained an injury that prevented him from continuing to play after he initially pulled up.
It appeared that Timber had incurred an injury in the first half as a result of a collision that he had with Brennan Johnson, but he was able to return to action after the break before being forced to leave the field.
Takehiro Tomiyasu was brought in to replace Gabriel Magalhaes after the Ajax and Netherlands defender signed with Arsenal this summer for a fee of £34 million. This leads one to believe that Magalhaes may also be dealing with some kind of injury that has not been made public.
Timber was one of the summer additions that manager Mikel Arteta made for the team. He also brought in Kai Havertz from Chelsea and broke the club record when he paid £105 million to bring Declan Rice from West Ham.
The beginning of the season got off to a rough start for Arsenal when a problem with the turnstiles caused a delay of half an hour before play could begin. This put the team behind schedule.
