Arsenal’s 20-man squad for Everton with Partey’s replacement and David Raya’s inclusion.
It seems much longer than two weeks have passed since Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal last played. Following the dramatic nature of their 3-1 victory over Manchester United, the fortnight of international matches assumed a more peripheral role in the football community.
Now that he must confront and exorcise his past demons, the Spaniard will be eager for his team to take up where it left off.
The atmosphere and controversy of a late summer afternoon at the Emirates Stadium, along with some crucial internal grit, helped the Gunners defeat their old foe, but the manager will now demand improved performances.
Arteta has struggled to resolve on a team this season due to defensive injuries, transfer rumors, and tactical adjustments, but against the Red Devils, he reverted to the tried-and-true.
At Everton, who will be inspired by their 1-0 victory over the league leaders last season, a combination of technical dominance and genuine fight will be required once again.
Fortuitously for Arteta, he has very few problems to contend with.
Oleksandr Zinchenko returned to the squad against United, his first start of the season, while Gabriel Magalhaes’ appearance seemed to settle the backline.
The Brazilian allowed right-back Ben White to return to his preferred position, and order was restored.
Gabriel’s stamina was questioned during the international break after he was subjected to a high challenge while playing for Brazil.
Later, the 25-year-old was observed with an ice pack on his leg, but concerns were alleviated when he started his second consecutive game against Bolivia.
There were comparable concerns for Bukayo Saka after the English player of the year was again victimized by hard collisions.
According to reports, he is still suffering from an Achilles issue that recurred throughout the course of last season.
Against Ukraine, he was knocked around, as has become the norm.
The 22-year-old Saka was then a substitute for England’s victory over Scotland, which was a more comfortable outing for him.
“He is well. When asked about his physical condition, Arteta stated, “He trained normally today, so there’s nothing to report.” Every player has aches and symptoms, but there is no cause for concern.
While Saka is healthy, Thomas Partey remains sidelined. Due to a groin injury, he was left out of Ghana’s squad for their recent matches.
Partey also had to sit out the victory over United, watching on from the sidelines in north London instead.
“He still has a few weeks to go. His musculature is injured. His crucial defensive midfielder is progressing well, according to Arteta.
Mohamed Elneny is also recovering, this time from a lengthy injury, but he is coming closer to a return.
The Egyptian was spotted training at London Colney earlier this week, where he is focusing on sharpening his skills.
Jurrien Timber is also eliminated. David Raya is most likely currently supporting Aaron Ramsdale as he attempts to force his way into Arteta’s plans.

As the fall season approaches, it is not anticipated that the squad will be full of surprises.
Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya both serve as goaltenders
Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Jakub Kiwior are the team’s defenders.
Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Fabio Vieira, Emilio Smith Rowe, and Jorginho are midfielders.
Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson are the attacking players.
