Granit Xhaka, a Switzerland midfielder, was said farewell to his teammates and fans at the Emirates Stadium on the day he was set to leave the club.

Arsenal fans continued to show their affection for Xhaka by singing his name as an additional message to the player.

Xhaka was greeted with celebrations by his teammates and staff throughout the game as Arsenal moved up 4-0 thanks to his two goals scored in the first half to the delight of the home fans.

After seven years at the club, the player, who is now 30, is anticipated to resign during the summer.

His replacement was met with deafening screams from the home faithful saying, “Granit Xhaka, we want you to stay.”

This was in addition to the Ashburton Army having produced a flag in his honor and having a number of scarves with Xhaka’s likeness.

It is neither the first nor the only time that Xhaka has been the focus of attention on a day that could be considered to be essentially devoted to him.

His first goal, which came at a crucial moment in the game, was met with elation and slaps on the head, and after his second goal, he ran over to the dugout, where he embraced Mohamed Elneny and high-fived the coaching staff.

In addition to the chant, Arsenal supporters sent him an additional letter filled with affection and gratitude. A banner was hung in the home end with the following text: “If this is the end, farewell Granit.”

With seven goals and seven assists, Xhaka had the most productive season of his career in terms of overall production. Additionally, he is very close to reaching the milestone of 300 games played for the club.
