Chelsea: High-priced signing suffers injury fright
According to reports, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino could be handed another injury blow at Stamford Bridge after one of his players limped off with an injury during the international break.
What is the most recent Chelsea news?
According to Football Insider, Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Habib Diarra, a midfielder for Strasbourg, and could use their relationship with the French satellite club to bring the 19-year-old to Stamford Bridge.
Diarra was the subject of attention from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer; however, Chelsea intervened to prevent any potential move as they see him as someone who could develop into a top star in west London.
The French junior international made 30 appearances across all competitions last season, registering three goals and three assists.
John Terry, according to Football London, has backed Blues manager Pochettino to deliver success to his former club, stating, “I love Poch. “I’ve been around him, and I can assure you that he is a first-rate manager who will get us to where we need to be.”
Pochettino’s revamped squad has a great deal of opportunity for improvement, as evidenced by Chelsea’s 12th-place position in the Premier League after four games with four points from a possible 12.

Romeo Lavia, who suffered an ankle injury in training and could be out for a while, has been unable to contribute on the field for Chelsea this season, according to The Evening Standard.
Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Christopher Nkunku, among others, remain sidelined for the Blues, limiting their ability to field a full-strength team under Pochettino.
Who else at Chelsea is injured?
As reported by The Metro, Chelsea’s injury list could be about to expand as a result of Mykhailo Mudryk’s withdrawal from Ukraine’s 1-1 draw against England on Saturday night. In the first half, the 22-year-old also required medical attention after colliding with Marcus Rashford.
However, he was subsequently removed from the game following a collision with Kyle Walker, and he may be out for some time with a suspected calf injury.
Mudryk, who was deemed “the real deal” by Steven Gerrard earlier this year, has struggled to establish a rhythm since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5 million in January.
According to Transfermarket, the Ukraine international has made 20 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, registering two assists, but has yet to score for his current club.
The Athletic reports that Chelsea has urged Mudryk to ‘tone down’ his workouts as he continues to look for consistency.
Mudryk is believed to perform additional work outside of the club in separate gyms and satisfies all of the club’s fitness requirements.
Obviously, his transfer to Stamford Bridge has yet to completely ignite; however, his commitment cannot be faulted as he attempts to prove his worth in English football, but he may now be ruled out due to injury.
