This summer, Chelsea is willing to abandon their commitment to sell Romelu Lukaku irrevocably. According to reports, Mauricio Pochettino and company are open to arranging a loan deal for the Belgian, whose value has decreased over the past two seasons.

Lukaku’s value has decreased from the £98 million Chelsea paid for him in 2021 due to subpar seasons at Stamford Bridge and the San Siro. The front of Pochettino is well-stocked and has been on perpetual sale all summer.

However, no interested parties have met Chelsea’s financial demands, prompting a change in strategy with just one week remaining in the transfer window. The Athletic reports that a provisional relocation is currently being considered in west London.

According to reports, Roma and Juventus have inquired about the 30-year-old, who scored 10 goals in Serie A last year.

Multiple sides in the Saudi Pro League are rumored to be contemplating an offer for Chelsea’s services. Throughout the summer, Pochettino and Lukaku reportedly maintained a cordial relationship.

Recent comments by the Argentine suggest that all parties have agreed that Lukaku’s departure is the best course of action, although Pochettino refused to close the door on Lukaku’s return to the squad in case he is compelled to remain.
“I accept the situation that existed when I arrived,” the Chelsea manager stated. “Both the club and the player are seeking a resolution. Things can change in the future. Life is mutable.

“I heard [Jurgen] Klopp say he won’t be in this business when we pay £100 million [for players], but when they proposed £100 million, he said, ‘Oh, I made a mistake’. This is a similar situation.

“In football, the dynamic is constantly shifting, and we must adapt. Nothing has changed today. If something alters, we will adjust accordingly.”
Chelsea has reportedly decided that any season-long loan agreement should include an option to buy or a significant fee, as they are now seriously considering a season-long loan deal.

The finest period of Lukaku’s career occurred between 2019 and 2021 with Inter Milan, but relations with the Nerazzurri deteriorated earlier this summer due to rival interest from Juventus.
