Chelsea decides on a goalkeeper transfer for the United States preseason tour.

Eddie Beach, a young goalkeeper for Chelsea, is expected to travel to the United States with the rest of the squad, as the club intends to retain him in the first team this season.

The 19-year-old forward spent the second half of last season on loan at non-league club Chelmsford, but has since returned to Cobham and is exercising with the first team.

Beach joined Chelsea last summer from the Southampton academy, but he has yet to play for the senior team.

However, the club is eager to retain Beach in the first-team squad until January, when his status will be evaluated.

This follows the departure of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who transferred to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, leaving Chelsea short on goalkeepers.

Although football, Kepa Arrizabalaga is currently Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper.According to London, the club would be willing to trade the Spaniard if they acquire a new goalkeeper during this window.

Marcus Bettinelli is Kepa’s backup, with Gabriel Slonina, a young American goalkeeper, anticipated to be loaned out.

Why aren’t Reece James and Wesley Fofana included in Chelsea’s preseason tour squad?

Reece James and Wesley Fofana were notable Chelsea players missing from their preseason tour of the United States. Armando Broja is another player absent from the Blues’ confirmed 29-man squad that will travel to the United States.

Wednesday, July 19 will mark the first preseason exhibition between Chelsea and Wrexham. Mauricio Pochettino has had only two and a half weeks to work with his new squad as the 2023/24 Premier League season approaches.

After selling or releasing more than ten members of their first-team squad from the previous season, Chelsea are moving a group of young players to the United States.

A number of young players, including summer signings Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, have been included in the touring party.

Angelo Gabriel, Diego Moreira, and Levi Colwill, a returning England Under-21 international following his success at the European Championships, are all included in the squad.

Ian Maatsen and Andrey Santos have been chosen for the tour, while Callum Hudson-Odoi has been omitted after Fulham’s offer for the winger was denied this week.
The ‘agreed’ transfer to Leeds United allows Chelsea to proceed with its £214 million plan.

Leeds United have agreed to sign Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea after the Welsh defender returned from his loan tenure with Spezia at the conclusion of the 2017-18 campaign. The Athletic reports that Leeds will pay £7 million plus add-ons for the 22-year-old central defender in a permanent transfer.

Since joining the Blues from Exeter City in 2017, Ampadu has participated in four loan periods. The Wales international spent the previous season with Spezia, making 31 Serie A appearances for the relegated club, following brief stints with RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, and Venezia.

Mauricio Pochettino deemed Ampadu surplus to requirements for the upcoming season, and he now appears to have secured a permanent transfer away from Chelsea, joining Championship side Leeds. In his first year as Blues co-owner, Todd Boehly spent over £600 million on new players, resulting in a swollen squad that needed to be addressed this summer.
