According to reports, Hakim Ziyech is likely to remain at Chelsea this summer after failing his second medical in as many weeks. Ziyech is one of a number of Chelsea players deemed surplus to requirements by Mauricio Pochettino.

Earlier this summer, the Morocco international was expected to join Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.

However, the £17 million deal fell through after it was alleged that Ziyech failed his medical, prompting Al Nassr to modify their offer for the winger to include significantly reduced wages.

Ziyech was able to leave the disappointment of his failed Saudi move behind him when Galatasaray and Chelsea reached a transfer agreement.
However, this transfer has also fallen through, as Dutch media reported that Ziyech failed his medical examination once again.

It is yet another transfer setback for Ziyech, who has endured several frustrating months since the World Cup. Ziyech was a significant contributor to Morocco’s triumph in Qatar, helping his country make history by advancing to the semifinals.

Ziyech was not considered a part of Chelsea’s future under Graham Potter despite his impressive performances. Paris Saint-Germain attempted to acquire Ziyech on loan at the close of the January transfer window.

But the move spectacularly failed on the day of the deadline because the necessary documentation was not signed in time. Ziyech was left out in the elements at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea blamed a ‘technology defect’ for his exclusion.

PSG football advisor Luis Campos accused Chelsea of sabotaging the agreement at the eleventh hour.

He stated, “We had the player on our team and had taken every precaution. However, as with any transfer, you need the cooperation of all three parties. In this instance, it worked out very well for Paris Saint-Germain, as well as for Ziyech. Unfortunately, the last celebration did not go well.”
