inter Milan want to retain on-loan Despite his error in the Champions League final, Romelu Lukaku will play at the San Siro next season. Lukaku was left regretting what might have been after sending a late free header that could have forced extra time directly to Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.

He also blocked Federico Dimarco’s goal-bound header, but despite his misadventures off the bench, Inter want to extend the 30-year-old’s contract. “It is abundantly clear that Romelu loves Inter,” said owner Steven Zhang.

“He’s a wonderful guy, but he’s signed with Chelsea. We must wait and consult with Chelsea to determine Lukaku’s future.”

It was a performance that could have convinced new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to stay. Inter are invited to utilize his services.

Lukaku’s disappointing performance in front of goal left Lautaro Martinez shaking his head. “Not even Ederson knows how he saved Lukaku’s header,” Martinez said after the game.

Denzel Dumfries, a teammate, described it as a golden opportunity.

What can I say about the possibility? “Nine times out of ten, I believe he was going to score, but the goalkeeper made the save,” said the right back. In the end, however, we triumph and lose together.

Belgium was eliminated from the group stage of the World Cup after Lukaku smashed a plexiglass dugout window in frustration after missing four second-half chances against Croatia in a scoreless stalemate.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will demand a fee for Lukaku if they decide to part ways with the former Manchester United forward this summer, or whether they will attempt to negotiate a transaction that could bring new players to Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino is eager to acquire Martinez’s services in the future months, despite Real Madrid’s interest, and a straight swap could be considered by both clubs.

The Blues are also desperate to acquire a top-tier goalkeeper this summer, as Edouard Mendy is expected to be sold and Kepa Arrizabalaga will remain with the club as a backup.

Andre Onana of Inter has been discussed internally by Chelsea, and a potential deal has been discussed with representatives of the Serie A club.

The former Ajax goalkeeper insists he will obey the instructions of his club and is open to staying or leaving. United and Tottenham have also been linked to the 27-year-old player.
