Declan Rice discloses new best friend at Arsenal, and it’s not Bukayo Saka.

Declan Rice has revealed the Arsenal player who has become his closest friend, which may surprise fans.

The England international’s transfer from West Ham to Arsenal is the largest signing of the summer in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta was so frantic to acquire his target that he paid £105 million for his services, outbidding Manchester City.

Rice has already made an impression on the club since joining them on their U.S. tour.

The 24-year-old has found excellent company with a surprise star, Leandro Trossard, despite the difficulty of crisscrossing the country.

When asked with whom he has gotten along best, Rice responded, “Well, you know what, from the first day I was there, Leandro Trossard.

“You wouldn’t place us together, but he’s a top-notch individual.

“I sat next to him on the plane and I’ve spent a lot of time with him here; he’s an all-around great individual. I get along well with him.

“And playing against him in the past, he was always a pain, so it’s great to have such a great player on my team now.”

Rice would have known a number of London-based players before making the move this summer.

The midfielder knows Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, and Ben White in the England camp.

And he and Eddie Nketiah went through the Chelsea academy together, meeting when they were nine years old.

Trossard, however, is a recent addition to Arsenal, having arrived from Brighton in January.

After a strong performance, the Belgium international became an instant hit with fans, creating an immediate impression.

He registered 10 assists in 22 appearances as the Gunners challenged City for the Premier League title but ultimately fell short.

However, the 28-year-old demonstrated he can fit in seamlessly with Arteta’s squad, which will be crucial ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.

The Arsenal coach has been eager to strengthen his squad in order to deal with the increased workload required to contend on multiple fronts.
