After a stellar season, Arsenal appears likely to provide Mikel Arteta with a significant transfer budget during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners came close to preventing Manchester City from winning their third consecutive Premier League title, but Pep Guardiola’s squad’s power ultimately prevailed as they won another domestic title with games remaining.

While disappointment is likely to be prominent, Arsenal cannot allow it to overshadow a genuinely sensational season.

Few predicted that the Gunners would finish in a Champions League spot, let alone be in contention for the title in the final month of the season, but that is precisely what occurred, and now Arteta and Edu must use this momentum as fuel for their upcoming campaigns.

However, their first task is off the field, where they are responsible for the club’s summer recruitment.

Thesoccerstand is aware of this. Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount, Mohamed Kudus, Mohamed Simakan, Ivan Fresneda, Edmond Tapsoba, Joao Cancelo, and Marc Guehi are potential targets, while Declan Rice is the top priority.

With so many targets and positions requiring depth, it is expected to be a busy period at Emirates Stadium, and Edu appears to have confirmed this.

In an interview with Sky Sports journalist James Green, Edu likely remained tight-lipped about Arsenal’s specific intentions, but he did hint at a busy summer in north London.

Green tweeted about the interview: “Edu also told me he won’t be traveling too far this summer, no travels to Brazil, because he wants to be close by so he can have face-to-face meetings. He anticipates being extremely occupied.”

This rather subtle hint comes after a recent report from the Mail disclosed that Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has allocated £180 million for the summer transfer window.

With Folarin Balogun and Kieran Tierney likely to be sold as a duo, over £200 million could be spent on signings, allowing for the inclusion of numerous players in addition to Declan Rice.

Bayern Munich is also very interested in signing the West Ham captain, despite the fact that Arsenal appears to be at the head of the line.

According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has spoken directly with Rice, who is “open” to a transfer to the German giants.

The Mirror also reports that the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions are preparing a £95m package offer for Rice, which is £3m more than what appears to be Arsenal’s first formal offer.

Rice’s preferred destination is presently the Arsenal, but that could change in the coming weeks following West Ham’s Europa League final against Fiorentina.
