Enzo Fernandez clarifies Chelsea’s position with an admittance amid transfer rumors.
Amidst rumors of a possible transfer exodus in the upcoming months, Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez has expressed his displeasure with the club.
The midfielder moved to west London from Benfica in January for a reported fee of £106.5 million, following an impressive World Cup with Argentina. The 22-year-old came with high expectations and fulfilled that with some of his performances early on.

Despite this, the Blues finished in a disappointing 12th place in the league, stumbling and stumbling along the way. During the summer, Mauricio Pochettino was named the new head coach and a number of new players were acquired.
Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia joined for a combined fee of approximately £165 million, bringing about significant change in the midfield. However, similar to last year, Chelsea’s early-season results have not been sufficient to spark the season.
In the formative games, a draw with Liverpool and a victory over Luton Town have proved to be positive, but losses to West Ham and Nottingham Forest have resulted in only four points from the first four games. Since then, there have been rumors that Fernandez may depart if circumstances do not improve.
Despite recent claims to the contrary, the midfielder appears to have made his feelings regarding Chelsea plain during the international break. Regarding his previous year, he told La Nacion, “We know what the World Cup produces.
“It opens many doors, as it did for me when I was at Benfica, and my move to Chelsea was a wonderful one. I’ve always stated that my dream was to participate in the Premier League. I am extremely appreciative to Chelsea for this opportunity.”
It is evident that, at least for the time being, all attention is on Chelsea as the Blues seek to advance their project and get on track with the new ownership’s vision.
