Gabriela Cavallin urged Manchester United to “remove” Antony from the team after she and two other women accused him of domestic violence.
Ex-girlfriend of the Brazil winger has criticized United for their slow response to allegations that Antony attacked her on multiple occasions between June 2022 and May 2023, imploring them to suspend the winger.
The DJ and model claimed in a recent interview with the Brazilian website UOL that her ex-partner had headbutted her, hurled a glass at her, and threatened to push her out of a moving vehicle on separate occasions.
In a recent television interview, Antony vehemently refuted all charges, claiming his innocence.
In response to this report, two additional women, Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have accused Anthony of assault. Both Greater Manchester Police and Sao Paulo Police have launched investigations as a result.
In an interview with The Sun, Cavallin has demanded that United suspend the 23-year-old while the police investigate the allegations.
“Antony must be removed from the field,” said Cavallin. “It is disappointing that he is still permitted to participate while an investigation is ongoing.
I am utterly devastated by the entire procedure. How can his existence continue as normal? They cannot simply retain their current knowledge and do nothing. He must be eliminated.”
The DJ’s remarks increase the strain on United, which received substantial criticism for its handling of the Mason Greenwood case.
Due to the ongoing police investigations, the club has been advised to proceed with caution, according to a source who spoke with GOAL, but many will be looking for decisive action from United, whose indecision regarding the 21-year-old forward has raised significant concerns. Cavallin is concerned that Antony is repeating the same errors.
“Why did United take three months?” The young man continued. “It’s not acceptable. I prefer not to believe that such a large institution, comprised of such serious and competent individuals, would conceal such a situation.”
United’s issued a formal statement on the matter earlier this week.
