Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano delivers considerable update on Havertz to Arsenal talks
With so much speculation encircling Stamford Bridge and who will remain at Chelsea, Fabrizio Romano has provided a significant update on Kai Havertz and a possible transfer to Arsenal.
Since joining the Blues, the German has never really been at his best, but he has shown flashes of his aptitude.
Mauricio Pochettino must evaluate the relative merits of every player at the club once he is completely acclimated. Given the manner in which he has improved players throughout his managerial career, he will almost certainly find something to work with in Havertz.
Pochettino could investigate the possibility of goal-sharing, as opposed to relying solely on the team’s leading scorer, as a potential area for improvement.
Obviously, if he is given the opportunity to do so.

Chelsea’s financial and squad woes have been well-documented over the past few weeks, and it’s abundantly apparent that the club must offload players from a top-heavy first-team squad, assembled as a result of Todd Boehly’s recent spending sprees.
Arsenal has made a preliminary offer for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz. Discussions have commenced. Arsenal are working on this unexpected deal, which follows rapid developments over the past few days involving Real Madrid, who were intrigued but are now out of the running,’ Romano wrote in his exclusive CaughtOffside Substack.
Real Madrid have cooled their interest because he is deemed too expensive; they will not invest even £60 million. Now, Arsenal has approached Chelsea, who has requested £70-75 million.
Arsenal will never pay that amount of money. According to my understanding, however, sources close to the negotiations believe it will be possible to sign Havertz for less from Chelsea. Because Chelsea is aware that the Germany international will not extend his contract, they are able to be flexible regarding their asking price.The discussions are ongoing, and the player is eager to join Arsenal. Despite his struggles at Stamford Bridge, Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of his qualities and believes he has room to develop.
