Exclusive: “Man City accepted a bid” – Fabrizio Romano names transfer to eye soon
Fabrizio Romano believes that a transaction involving Al Nassr and Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is one to watch in the near future. Laporte now plays for Manchester City.
Romano mentioned the Laporte to Al Nassr deal in his exclusive CaughtOffside piece as a potential one to keep an eye on. This comes after Manchester City accepted a proposal from the Saudi Pro League team, and the player is now required to make a choice on his future.
Laporte has had a successful career at the Etihad Stadium, but due to the increased level of competition in Pep Guardiola’s squad at this point, he is no longer certain of a spot in the first team.
The likes of Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, and Nathan Ake have moved ahead of Laporte in the pecking order. Additionally, the addition of Josko Gvardiol this summer will most likely make it even more difficult for the Spain international to gain many minutes on the pitch.
It is now up to Laporte to decide if he is prepared to travel to Saudi Arabia or whether he would choose to hold out and wait for offers from Europe.
