Fabrizio Romano has named Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone as the two midfielders Liverpool are monitoring after Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia turned them down.
The Reds have endured some awful days, have they not? Two of their top targets have been lured away by Chelsea, leaving Jurgen Klopp’s squad in a very precarious situation.
Romano stated on The Daily Briefing that Liverpool is still interested in Thuram and Kone.

Liverpool were extensively linked with Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram at the start of the transfer window.
It is no secret that the Reds sought to strengthen their midfield during the summer. Following Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s departure from the club for Saudi Arabia, this demand increased dramatically.
After acquiring Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool did everything possible to acquire Moises Caicedo or Romeo Lavia.
Unfortunately, they were unable to persuade either player, and Chelsea ended up signing them.
Romano, commenting on Liverpool’s next steps after being rejected by Lavia and Caicedo, stated: “Liverpool will now pursue alternative targets.
Let’s see who they will ‘attack’ now.
“Of course, they will attempt to limit leaks because they created a problem with the Caicedo deal and the Lavia deal.” The contest for Liverpool’s midfield position is wide open, but they will sign at least one new player.
Not too long ago, Khephren Thuran and Manu Kone topped Liverpool’s transfer wishlist.
The Reds were extensively linked with moves for both players, but Jurgen Klopp opted to focus on midfielders with Premier League experience instead.
As a result, Lavia and Caicedo were considered, but now that they are no longer an option, it is not surprising that the Reds are once again considering two Frenchmen.
