‘I have been a scapegoat which isn’t fine’ – Man United star hits back at Erik ten Hag after being dropped
Jadon Sancho has responded to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who stated this week that the England winger was dropped from the squad based on his training exploits.
Ten Hag was dissatisfied with a number of decisions during United’s 3-1 loss, but his revelations about Sancho prompted the former Borussia Dortmund player to respond on Twitter.
“People do not believe what they read! After United’s 3-1 loss at Arsenal, Sancho stated, “I will not permit people to say things that are completely false; I have conducted myself very well in training this week.”
“I believe there are other causes for this matter that I will not discuss; it’s not fair that I’ve been the scapegoat for so long!
“All I want to do is contribute to my team while playing football with a grin on my face.
“I respect all decisions made by the coaching staff, I’m grateful to play with such great players, and I know that every week will be a challenge.

“I will continue to fight for this badge, no matter what!”
The England winger did not travel to north London for the match, which United lost 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium after conceding two late goals.
Sancho, 23 years old, had come off the substitute in the season’s first three Premier League games.
However, Ten Hag claimed that the forward lacked the requisite “level” to play against the Gunners.
“Jadon, based on his training performances, we did not select him,” the Dutchman said after the loss.
“Every day at Manchester United, you must perform at a certain level, and we have options in the front line. Therefore, he was not selected for this contest.”
Sancho has struggled to maintain a consistent level of play since joining Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in 2021.
In 58 league appearances for the Red Devils, he has scored nine goals and provided six assists. He must now establish himself to Ten Hag in order to be considered for the visit of high-flying Brighton after the international break.
