‘I know him quite well’ – Antony praises a Manchester United target
Antony has referred to Andre Onana as “very strong,” as Manchester United continues negotiations with Inter Milan to acquire the services of the goalkeeper. Onana currently plays for Inter Milan.
Inter’s current goalkeeper is Erik ten Hag’s top pick to take over at Old Trafford after David de Gea’s departure. David de Gea recently left Manchester United.

Although De Gea has been a mainstay at United for more than a decade, Ten Hag is looking to replace him with a ball-playing goalkeeper and has his sights set on Onana.
Onana, who had previously played for Ten Hag at Ajax, moved to Inter Milan around this time a year ago and was instrumental in the Serie A club’s run to the final of the Champions League in June.
The Cameroon international has already reached a personal agreement with the Premier League powerhouses, and as a result, he is eager to complete a transfer to Manchester United.
However, United still need to reach a deal with Inter Milan, who have already turned down an opening offer worth approximately £35 million. United are seeking to build on the encouraging first season they had under Ten Hag’s leadership.
Antony would welcome his former teammate with open arms if he were to play for Manchester United and the club is still hopeful of signing the 27-year-old to a contract and bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams.
The Brazilian winger said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, “I know him very well, we played together at Ajax.” “He is a wonderful person in addition to being an outstanding goalkeeper.”
When asked if he wanted Manchester United to finalize a contract for Onana, Antony responded by saying, “It’s not for me to say because it’s the club’s decision and not mine.” Onana is a player for Manchester United.
“All I can say is that he is most certainly very strong,” I said. And that we have an extremely healthy relationship with one another.’
Mason Mount, a standout player for Chelsea and England, was Manchester United’s first signing of the summer. The club also has plans to bring in another midfielder and a striker before the summer transfer window closes.
