Ian Wright reveals who he believes to be Arsenal’s best summer signing

Kai Havertz was the player whom Arsenal icon Ian Wright chose as the club’s best new acquisition from the summer transfer window. This summer, the Gunners have been quite active in the transfer market, making significant moves to acquire players such as Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz, among others.

However, Wright is of the opinion that Havertz is the player who is most likely to make a significant contribution to the team. Since joining Chelsea in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee of £71 million, the German international has had trouble living up to the lofty standards set for him. Despite this, Wright is confident that he will become a star for Arsenal.

According to Wright, “I feel extremely, extremely confident about that midfield and what that midfield is capable of producing.” “Especially with [Kai] Havertz in that role, Havertz in that role, I think we are going to be very surprised in his quality as well. Havertz is going to be a big part of it.”

We haven’t seen anything from him at Chelsea, but we’re sure that Arsenal supporters are going to adore him. He has, in fact, been responsible for the game-winning goal in a Champions League match and other such occurrences.

But he is not a nine, and he is not a false nine either. He is either a ten who drifts in like he did for Leverkusen and scored a lot of goals in his first couple of seasons or he is a nine who never scores.

“But I can see him as an eight, arriving with [Gabriel] Jesus coming out, leaving those spaces,” I said. “I can see him leaving those spaces.”

“I just can’t help but get giddy about it.”

Havertz has been described by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as having the potential to become a “top, top player” for the club, which is a sentiment that is reflected in Wright’s words. During his time at Chelsea, Havertz has demonstrated glimpses of his immense ability; nevertheless, the team has not yet been able to adequately utilize him in any capacity.

Havertz, on the other hand, has the opportunity to realize his full potential at the Emirates Stadium thanks to Arteta’s direction and the assistance of Arsenal’s already exceptionally excellent attacking option. If he is able to do that, he will be a valuable asset to Arsenal as they attempt to regain their place at the top of English football.

Who am I to disagree with Ian Wright if he claims it’s true?
