After Arsenal’s improbable late victory over Manchester United, the attention naturally centered on the team’s performance. How could it not be?

However, the commencement of the game was overshadowed by yet another significant injury to the team. Thomas Partey missed the encounter due to a groin injury that, according to the Ghanaian FA, will keep him out for a couple of weeks. Mikel Arteta, however, was less optimistic in his post-match press conference.

“I don’t know, unfortunately, he suffered an injury during training, and it doesn’t look good; we need more tests, but we believe he’ll be out for weeks,” he said. We believe it is a groin, but it could be something else.

Partey’s extended absence will cause him to miss Carabao Cup and Champions League contests, and the team was reshuffled as a result. In preparation for the upcoming season, the roster’s depth has been diminished.

Jorginho is the apparent replacement for Partey, but the club extended Mohamed Elneny’s contract despite his inability to participate with the team. After the match, football.london asked the Egyptian international when we might next see him as a member of the team, to which he responded, “Back soon.”

A concise but encouraging update. Elneny may not be able to perform at the same level as Partey, but he has always been a reliable option when called upon and has demonstrated excellent play at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge.

Jurrien Timber is also rehabilitating from a recent injury. The Dutch international underwent successful surgery two weeks ago and is currently in the “recovery phase” of his rehabilitation.

He attended the game against Manchester United. football.london spoke with Timber after the game, where the 22-year-old was still reliant on two supports for mobility.

When asked how he was feeling about his recovery, he responded with “Good, good” The club was unable to locate a suitable replacement for him during the summer transfer window, so he will be greatly missed.

Arsenal now has a weekend off for the international break, allowing players such as Partey and Elneny to recuperate further. It is unknown whether either will be available for Sunday, September 17’s voyage to Everton.
