A legend from Liverpool has given Jurgen Klopp the advice to cash in on a “fantastic” player from Arsenal who is 29 years old.
According to an article published by ESPN, Steve Nicol has been quoted as saying that if given the opportunity, he would have Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool club sign midfielder Thomas Partey of Arsenal and playmaker Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City.
The Anfield legend had the option of picking any player from Arsenal or Manchester City, but he went with two players from the middle of the field instead.
Despite the fact that Nicol initially forgot about the goal machine, Erling Haaland, he has maintained his initial comments and added that it is a “fantastic” decision.
Someone like Partey is precisely what Liverpool needs in the middle of the park right now due to the fact that they are showing signs of fatigue after playing for half of the season.
It is also important to point out that despite the fact that many players took some time off during the World Cup break, they are still performing at the level of heavyweight boxers in the final rounds of a title fight.
However, Nicol revealed which players from Arsenal and Manchester City he would try to bring to Liverpool in order to fix their issues.
“Partey and de Bruyne,” was Nicol’s response to the question.
“Two incredible athletes and two incredible paths to take. I wouldn’t alter it even if you gave me permission to do so.”
Pep Guardiola has an incredible amount of roster depth to choose from, which means that Manchester City does not have a pressing need to make many changes before the transfer deadline.
But things are different for the teams leading the Premier League, who are trying to improve their chances of winning the championship by signing a defensive-minded midfielder.
Guardiola and Arteta are in a position to count on their club to make a transfer if one is required.
That has not been the case for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, where the club’s roster has only been improved by the addition of Dutch winger Cody Gakpo.
