Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former star for Manchester City, has stated that his former club is not concerned about Arsenal heading into the upcoming season.

Last year, the Gunners were in the driver’s seat for the most of the Premier League title fight.

However, they were ultimately unable to fend off a near-perfect few months of form displayed by City, who ultimately finished five points clear at the top of the standings. Since then, the team managed by Mikel Arteta has spent more than 200 million pounds on new players in the transfer market.

These new players include Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber.

However, according to Wright-Phillips, who currently works as a club ambassador at the Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola and the rest of the team are not fazed by this. According to what he said to The Mirror, “we are not worried about Arsenal next season.”

Since the end of the previous campaign, a large number of other clubs have made significant improvements. I believe that there will be increased opportunities for other teams to attempt to make up ground on Man City and Arsenal.

“City have dominated the Premier League for more than ten years, and the challenge is to continue to do so despite the fact that other teams have gotten stronger.” You just never know what to expect from Pep Guardiola… After utilizing four central defenders throughout the last campaign, he most likely has something else up his sleeve at this point.

Wright-Phillips made care to make fun of his father, Ian Wright, who is of course a legendary player for Arsenal. He continued, saying, “To be fair, my father handled it with a lot of grace.”

He acknowledged that Manchester City had earned it, particularly in light of their matchups against Arsenal at the Emirates and the Etihad Stadium.

He believed that City played exceptionally well in the last stretch of the season and that they deserved to win the championship. I don’t gloat. That’s the kind of thing he does.”
