After Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Fulham on the final day of the season, Erik ten Hag addressed the crowd at Old Trafford and emphasized, “There’s still one game to go.”

In Saturday’s FA Cup final, Liverpool has an opportunity to win a cup double and simultaneously end Manchester City’s treble hopes. Ten Hag’s debut season will be a triumph regardless of the outcome at Wembley.

A trophy win, however, would unquestionably elevate a good season to an excellent one. United will not be at full strength against their city rivals, but they received a boost prior to their victory against Fulham.

Antony
This was in regards to the health of Antony, who was carried off on a gurney during the first half of Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Chelsea. Ten Hag stated after the game that the injury appeared “serious,” but on Sunday he provided a more optimistic update.

He stated, “We’ve all seen how he appeared and it wasn’t fantastic. But the initial evaluation is positive and there is a high chance he will be available for next week’s Cup final.”
Marcel Sabitzer
The midfielder appears to have played his last game for United this season, and perhaps ever. The knee injury sustained by Sabitzer prior to the 2-0 victory over Wolves earlier this month terminated his season.

The January loanee is scheduled to return to parent club Bayern Munich in February, with his future undetermined. If United win the FA Cup, he will still receive a medal despite having played in earlier rounds, including the quarterfinal victory over Fulham in which he scored.

Possible return date: N/A

Donny van de Beek
Van de Beek endured a difficult time at United, and his 2022/23 campaign terminated in January. After undergoing surgery for a severe knee injury, he will not return until preseason.

Van de Beek provided an update on his condition in April, stating, “It is difficult to give you a time [for his return]; we just need to see how everything proceeds. Currently, I am doing a great deal of gym labor. However, I am growing closer to the field, which is a positive development. I am not too distant.”

July is a possible return date.

Lisandro Martinez
Ten Hag stated over the weekend that he expects Martinez to return to Carrington this week to resume his rehabilitation. He expressed his hope that the defender would return prior to the commencement of preseason.

Martinez’s metatarsal injury sustained last month against Sevilla has ruled him out for the remainder of his debut season. After Sunday’s victory over Fulham, the 25-year-old was seen walking around the Old Trafford pitch to applaud the supporters during the lap of honour.
