Man United: Red Devils in contact with Bayern star
Manchester United purportedly contacted Bayern Munich regarding a move for midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, and Fabrizio Romano relayed the response from Bayern Munich.
Ryan Gravenberch may be joining Manchester United.
The Red Devils and Erik ten Hag have been fruitful this summer by acquiring Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund in three separate high-paying deals.
However, the club’s purchasing spree may not be over yet, although any future transactions may depend on the club’s outlays.

Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina and Amadou Onana of Everton are two midfielders extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag has worked with Amrabat in the past, and Gravenberch, who developed at Ajax, has also played under United’s manager. The 21-year-old made all of his Ajax appearances under Ten Hag, and it appears that a reconciliation between the two may be worth monitoring in the final weeks of the transfer window.
Romano took to X to provide an update on what he has learned regarding the midfielder’s future, following recent rumors of a move to Manchester United for Gravenberch.
According to the transfer expert, both Manchester United and Liverpool requested to be kept abreast of Gravenberch’s predicament. However, it is believed that the German giants have no intention of selling the player.
“This week, Manchester United and Liverpool called again to inquire about the status of Ryan Gravenberch.
“Understand Bayern’s stance remains unchanged as of today — they have no intention of selling Gravenberch. Both MUFC and LFC are still interested in the event of late changes.”
What height is Ryan Gravesberch?
Gravenberch can play as a holding or central midfielder and is 6 feet 2 inches tall. Former Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann said the player possesses “everything a footballer needs,” highlighting his “fantastic” dribbling skills.
“I have the utmost faith in him. In addition, he understands precisely what he must do to suit our play style. He has everything a footballer requires. He has a phenomenal dribbling ability and is able to play under duress.
“Most football players his age in Europe are inferior to Ryan. Patience is required. This is the city of Munich. You must be superior to the other players because I have no reason not to field the finest.”
Brian Tevreden, the coach who promoted Gravenberch to Ajax’s Under 15s team when he was 12 years old, compared the player’s height and technical ability to those of former Manchester United player Paul Pogba and Frank Rijkaard, respectively.
“Physically, I see Frank in him from the past because he is tall and incredibly muscular. But technically, I would say that he is a superior version of Pogba during his best days at Juventus, in terms of his technique and presence on the pitch.”
His versatility and experience at the highest level with Ajax and Bayern Munich could make him a wise addition for the Red Devils to bolster their midfield options, and it appears United are monitoring the situation.
