Man United Will Fight To Stop Manchester City’s Triple Crown Bid; Erik Ten Hag
After defeating Brighton to advance to the FA Cup final against their fierce rivals, Erik ten Hag declared Manchester United would “give everything” to prevent Manchester City from matching his club’s prized treble.
United triumphed 7-6 on penalties at Wembley on Sunday following a scoreless draw, with Victor Lindelof scoring the decisive penalty.
It went a long way toward erasing the anguish of their shocking Europa League performance against Sevilla in the quarterfinals last week, in which they lost 3-0 and were eliminated 5-2 on aggregate.
To defeat Pep Guardiola’s City, who are aiming for the treble of Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup, they will need a more potent attack in the FA Cup final on June 3rd.

City is the favorite to win all three trophies this season, having shifted into higher gears in recent weeks.
United were on track for three trophies prior to Thursday’s thrashing in Spain, but after winning the League Cup in February to end a six-year trophy hiatus, they are still seeking a domestic double.
After the Wembley penalty shootout, United manager Ten Hag praised his team’s capacity to recover.
“First of all, we are physically and mentally strong, so we displayed the necessary character and personality… we were determined to win this game,” he said.
However, the Dutch manager stated that his team must learn to adapt during difficult matches, as they have suffered a number of crushing defeats this season, including a 6-3 loss at City and a 7-0 loss at Liverpool.
“We have demonstrated that we can overcome setbacks and recover between games,” he said.
“However, what we need to improve is our ability to recover from adversity in a game, be it in a difficult situation or on the road. Regardless of the circumstances, we must demonstrate character.”

In 1977, they prevented Liverpool from collecting all three trophies by winning the FA Cup final.
In January, Manchester City lost 2-1 at Old Trafford. Ten Hag joked that he would not disclose the “key” to beating City.
“I won’t tell you,” he replied. “I’ll keep that for myself.”
Ten Hag stated that he comprehended how United supporters felt about their historic accomplishment and issued a defiant rallying cry.
“We will do everything we can to give them the second trophy, everything I have, everything the team has, everything the coaching staff has,” he said. “We will do everything possible to accomplish this.
