Man Utd clear on ‘excellent striker’ aim for Ten Hag as Fabrizio Romano handles double deal

Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United are confident that Harry Kane can seamlessly integrate into the manner of play that Erik ten Hag is attempting to implement at Old Trafford.

Finding a new forward is a top priority for Manchester United during the impending transfer window. Burnley loaned out Wout Weghorst for the second half of the season, but it is unlikely that he will be retained.

Ten Hag has refused to confirm Weghorst’s departure, but the abundance of transfer rumors involving Manchester United signing a different striker seems to convey a clear message.

As he enters the final year of his contract with Tottenham, Kane has been rumored to be the Red Devils’ main summer transfer target.

Kane has reportedly made it plain that Manchester United is the only club he wishes to join if he leaves Spurs. To persuade Daniel Levy to sell to a Premier League rival will undoubtedly be the greatest challenge.

If Levy does not wish to conduct business, Kane may have to terminate his contract. Man United’s need for a new center-forward, however, is more pressing.

According to transfer expert Romano, Kane has been designated as the ‘perfect striker’ for Ten Hag. Consequently, the possibility of acquiring him from Tottenham and his England teammate Mason Mount from Chelsea will remain on the table.

Man United values Harry Kane and Mason Mount
Regarding Mount and Kane, Romano told Give Me Sport, “I would say that they are two players that Manchester United really values.”

“Without a doubt, Harry Kane is viewed as the ideal striker for Erik ten Hag’s football philosophy, and so they view him as the ideal player for their philosophy.”

Mount, who, like Kane, is entering the final year of his contract with the club from whose academy he emerged, is reportedly the subject of transfer negotiations between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Man United, unlike Chelsea or Tottenham, can offer Champions League football the following season after finishing third in the Premier League in 2022-23.

Kane may feel deserving of playing at that level after a season in which he scored 32 goals in 49 games and became Spurs’ all-time record scorer.

It is not difficult to understand why Manchester United has identified him as an ideal target. Realistically, it will be difficult for them to convince Tottenham to sell this summer.

There appears to be more optimism that they can acquire Mount to strengthen their midfield. This summer, perhaps the Kane saga will be the most drawn out.
