Man Utd target advised to rebuff summer move because of Man City

Ally McCoist has urged Declan Rice to reject a transfer to Manchester United in favor of Arsenal because the Gunners have the best chance of catching Manchester City right now.

The West Ham midfielder’s future at the London Stadium has been the subject of frequent transfer rumors.

West Ham may as well prepare to lose their star player this summer, since Rice has turned down repeated contract extension offers.

The Hammers will continue to seek a transfer fee for the England international that is north of £100 million.

A number of teams, though, are eager to improve their midfield depth this summer, and Rice is widely considered to be the best option available. Rice has been mentioned as a key priority for United, and the club is prepared to back Erik ten Hag in the transfer market.

While McCoist thinks Rice would be a good match at the Emirates, Arsenal has been the frontrunner to get him for a while now. “It’s a funny one,” he said on talkSPORT.

Over the course of the weekend and the rest of the season, if I were Declan Rice, I’d probably rather go to Arsenal than Manchester United.

Even if they won the League Cup, Manchester United still seems four or five players short of Manchester City when I watch them play on the weekend.

While I agree that Arsenal is still a ways off from catching up to Manchester City, I do believe that they have the ability to do it.

David Moyes appears to have accepted the fact that Rice will move this summer to join a club contending for a higher position in the league.
