Manchester City manager’s ideas that he claimed he has to beat Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola believes he knows how Manchester City can defeat Real Madrid in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, following last night’s 1-1 stalemate.

Guardiola witnessed Vinicius Jnr and Kevin De Bruyne trade long-range goals in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, leaving the tie in a precarious position ahead of next Wednesday’s match at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola stated on City’s official website, “I would have preferred to win, but I did not anticipate such a large margin of victory.” “We anticipate making some adjustments during the second phase. I have a general notion of what we need to do.

“It will be our last game at home in front of our fans, and we are looking forward to it. We are fully aware of [Real’s] actions. Perhaps they will alter something, perhaps not.

“Because [David] Alaba and [Antonio] Rudiger were so close to Erling, we need to see if we can defend a little bit better in some departments and attack.” The spaces were occupied by Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos, making it difficult for Erling to locate a spot.

“However, we will attempt to alter something in the second leg so that we are more fluid and play with a bit more rhythm because we are playing at home, where we are comfortable with our people. We intend to attempt.”

You would not select anyone else
Jack Grealish was involved in the buildup to City’s equalizer, and he believed De Bruyne was destined to score.

Grealish stated on the club’s website, “I told myself that we would only score with shots from outside the box.” “There were several in the first half. It was incredible, brother, when it fell to Kev. We observe it daily in training. You wouldn’t want it to fall to anyone else.

They had their opportunities, and so did we. I relished it tremendously, I adored it. You may possess anxiety. These are the evenings for which one plays football. These are the evenings in which you fantasize about playing. It’s almost like a fantasy come true.

Before the game, my mother texted me, ‘These are the evenings you dreamed of as a child. You’re pinching yourself!

City hopes to avoid a repeat of last season’s semi-final loss to Real Madrid, in which they were defeated 6-5 on aggregate over the two legs.

Grealish stated, “We have a new team with different players than last year.” “One thing we’ve learned so much from is the previous year. Phil [Foden] and Erling exemplify the ideal combination of experience and youth in our squad. Such children are of the highest caliber.
