Manchester United legend’s fresh title prediction amid Arsenal and Man City wrench claim

Rio Ferdinand, a former member of Manchester United, has predicted additional twists in the Premier League title competition between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s squad presently leads the north Londoners by one point and has a game in hand on their title rivals. The remaining home match for the incumbent champions is against Chelsea, while their remaining three matches will be played away from the Etihad Stadium.

The relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest will be the only away encounter for the Gunners, who will play two of their three games in north London.

Now, Ferdinand has stated that it is unlikely to be smooth sailing for City, but he does believe the league leaders will ultimately prevail.

“I believe there are still a few surprises in store,” the former England international said on his YouTube channel. “However, I don’t believe Arsenal will have enough to win the game.

“No matter how much I mock Arsenal, what they have accomplished this season is nothing short of astounding.

Throughout the entire season, you have given this juggernaut of a club (Manchester City) a run for the title, which is truly remarkable.”

Ferdinand also lauded Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, who has scored 15 goals in the Premier League this season despite not scoring a single penalty kick.

Odegaard’s tally is even more remarkable when considering that none of his goals have come from the penalty spot.

“Odegaard, your Player of the Season, did it again,” he added in reference to the Norwegian’s goal in Sunday’s 2-0 victory against Newcastle United.

Several of his actions in the first half were on a different level.
