Lisandro Martinez, a defender for Manchester United, has offered an update on his injury recovery and stated that he is “100% back” and ready to take a full part in pre-season training next month. Martinez made this statement after providing an update on his injury rehabilitation.

After suffering a broken metatarsal bone in his foot during the first leg of United’s Europa League quarter-final match against Sevilla in April 2022, the Argentina international was unable to play for the remainder of the 2022-23 season for the club.

It had been feared that Martinez’s preparations for the following season could be hampered as a result of the injury; nevertheless, he has been steadily progressing in his recuperation throughout this off-season.

The 25-year-old uploaded a snapshot from a gym session with one of United’s club physios indicating he was ‘coming closer’ to making a return to action last week, and now he has begun ball work once more.

On Saturday, Martinez released a video of himself sprinting and kicking a ball while dressed in United training attire. Later that day, Martinez tweeted, “So happy to be back 100%,” accompanied with an emoji depicting a muscle flexing.

Early in the month of July, United’s players are anticipated to check back in at Carrington in order to commence their pre-season training.

Martinez has been putting in the work to ensure that he recovers to a level of fitness that is as close to full as it is possible before the club embarks on its pre-season tour of the United States.

Before heading to the United States for four high-profile friendlies against Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund, the Red Devils will play two exhibition matches against Leeds and Lyon in Norway and Scotland, respectively. These matches will take place before the Red Devils leave for the United States.

Before they begin their season in the Premier League on August 14 against Wolves, Manchester United have one more friendly match to play, which will be against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin.

Martinez will have plenty of time to get back up to full speed after being out for two months due to the fact that they have seven friendlies to play before that game.

Martinez had a successful first season in England despite early concerns raised about his lack of height. However, he immediately silenced his detractors with a streak of outstanding defensive performances and enjoyed a successful season overall.

Martinez received high praise from a former United player named Daley Blind, who recently appeared on the UTD Podcast and gushed about Martinez, adding, “He is a great center-back.” Blind also moved from Amsterdam to Manchester.

He is extremely aggressive, he is incredibly good with his feet, and he is really good at tackling. He is a really good football player.

You cannot disregard him just on the basis that he might not be as tall as you had anticipated he would be. However, I believe that he directly demonstrated to himself that he is capable of everything that is required in the Premier League.
