Manchester United will never have a sounder opportunity to sign the EPL striker

The interest of Manchester United in Harry Kane is understandable. This season, the dearth of a center-forward focal point hampered the Reds when it mattered the most. Outside of Marcus Rashford, goals have been scarce.

As a striker, Erik ten Hag is likely inferior to Harry Kane. His constancy in scoring for a subpar team is commendable, and his work ethic should mesh well with the style United are attempting to implement.

United are presently operating under the assumption that Daniel Levy will not sell his striker, despite MEN Sport’s knowledge that Kane is Ten Hag’s top summer priority.

This hypothesis was reinforced when Tottenham’s new kit launch prominently featured Kane.

If Manchester United are unable to sign the England captain during the upcoming transfer window, their prospects of signing him at all will be severely diminished.

With Alan Shearer’s Premier League record still in sight, the striker’s priority appears to be staying in England.

Nonetheless, this will not persist indefinitely. Gary Neville discussed moving abroad with Kane on The Overlap in 2020.

Kane responded, “Of course, there’s always the possibility of moving abroad one day, but I don’t see that happening in the near future.”

While a transfer to Real Madrid is possible due to the club’s loss of Karim Benzema, it seems premature for Kane to move to Spain given his aspirations for personal success. However, acquiring the striker in 2024, when he will presumably be a free agent, will be more difficult for United.

Being unattached will enable clubs who are not presently in the running to sign the 29-year-old due to his price tag to compete for his services. If he waits until then, Ten Hag will need a tremendously successful season at Old Trafford to convince him to transfer teams.

United has never had a better chance to acquire Kane, but Levy’s stubbornness could cause the Reds to miss out on this golden opportunity.
