On transfer deadline day, Manchester United is anticipated to announce a deal for Sergio Reguilon.

The Athletic reports that Sergio Reguilon has completed and passed his pre-loan physical.

Reguilon is being recruited as a replacement for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, who are out with injuries.

The loan will contain a clause allowing United to terminate it in January if the left-back is no longer needed.

Manchester United’s action
The Athletic reports that Manchester United will fund all of Sergio Reguilon’s wages during his loan to the club.

However, this is not a large sum. By Manchester United’s standards, Reguilon’s contract with Tottenham is relatively inexpensive.

According to Capology, Reguilon earns £53,000 per week at Tottenham, making him one of United’s lowest-paid senior players.
The alternative option was Marc Cucurella of Chelsea, who was more expensive in terms of an up-front loan fee, with The Mirror reporting that he earns £175,000 per week.

Second Reguilon loan
This is the second occasion Tottenham has loaned out Sergio Reguilon. The second half of the previous season was spent with Atletico Madrid.

Reguilon was recruited by Jose Mourinho, but he has failed to impress the club’s subsequent managers, and he is no longer required.

United will want him to be registered in time to face Arsenal, which is why the medical examination was expedited.
