Mikel Arteta may be considering a long list of potential replacements for Jurrien Timber following his ACL injury against Nottingham Forest.

Due to his ability to invert, the Dutchman’s contribution to the team will be severely missed, and Arteta is particularly dismayed.

“Severe impact. When asked how devastating Timber’s absence will be, he responded, “especially for him after just joining the club.” The injury he has is a devastating setback.

It is for the team’s benefit because we recruited him with clear intentions and what he brought to the team was manifest, but he will be unable to do so for us this season. We must adjust. These things regrettably occur, and we must move on.”

However, Oleksandr Zinchenko could return for Monday night’s matchup against Crystal Palace. The return of his other inverted option may cause Arteta to contemplate more conventional fullback signings.

Joao Cancelo and Ivan Fresneda are therefore not viable options. Benjamin Pavard, whose future at Bayern Munich is uncertain, is a realistic objective, and Jules Kounde is a new option for the position.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey are capable of standing in, so there is no assurance that a replacement will be acquired.

Despite his Tottenham ties, a new name has emerged that Arteta and Edu may find alluring to pursue. According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters could become an option for Arsenal if he agrees to one condition. Walker-Peters is reportedly amenable to the move.

When asked about Arsenal’s options, he told GiveMeSport, “When you’re looking to bring someone in, you can’t necessarily go for someone who, once Timber returns, won’t have an integral role in the team.” Here, I believe Arsenal must be diplomatic in their pursuit of players.

“A player like Kyle Walker-Peters may be receptive to the transfer, but would still require assurances of playing time and minutes. I question if Arsenal will opt for a stop-gap signing rather than a permanent one in order to avoid upsetting the team’s chemistry.
