Al-Ittihad has made a higher-than-expected offer to Liverpool for Mohamed Salah, according to reports that also detail the complete range of incentives being offered to the player himself.
Al-Ittihad recently made a $150 million offer for Salah, which Liverpool had little interest in considering. However, it was anticipated that the Saudi Pro League champions would endeavor to sign him again.
After a Saudi delegation visited the United Kingdom, it was predicted that their next offer would be in the vicinity of £200 million, but they may have offered even more. The Sun has reported that Liverpool have been offered a world-record transfer fee of £215 million.
And if Liverpool does not accept the offer by Thursday, when the Saudi transfer window concludes, Al-Ittihad will test their resolve once more in January.
Currently, they are willing to offer Salah a £2.45 million signing incentive. In addition, they are offering him a £55,000 win bonus, a large
percentage of shirt sales profits, and ambassadorial positions with three major Saudi companies, which could be worth £18 million to the Egypt international.
First and foremost, Liverpool is under duress to decide whether or not to accept Al-Ittihad’s offer. According to the report, Salah’s current employers are now “conflicted” about how to proceed.
Despite Jurgen Klopp’s insistence that Mohamed Salah is not for sale – particularly after signing the largest contract in Liverpool’s history last summer – other club decision-makers may be seriously weighing their options.
Liverpool would be forced to change without Salah
Obviously, if Liverpool sells Salah now, they will be unable to acquire a replacement until January. When the time comes, however, they will be equipped with a substantial budget to do so.
In the interim, they would require a new combination attack from players such as Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, and Diogo Jota.
Salah has started all four Premier League games for Liverpool so far this season, contributing two goals and two assists despite rumors regarding his future.
Salah, one of the top five Liverpool goal scorers of all time, is a legend at Anfield. However, if Al-Ittihad signs him before the Saudi deadline, he will have already played his final game for the club.
The 31-year-old is still under contract with Liverpool until 2025, eight years after joining the club from Roma.
A transfer to Al-Ittihad would reunite him with Fabinho, who departed Liverpool earlier this summer. Other former colleagues, including Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, and Roberto Firmino, have joined other Saudi Pro League clubs.
