Pep Guardiola reveals ‘stupid remarks’ that could derail Man City triple chances and title defense

The notion that Manchester City will win the Premier League next season is absurd, according to manager Pep Guardiola, who confessed that he is afraid of losing due to the criticism he could face.

Guardiola has led City to five of the last six Premier League titles, and a historic treble could be achieved if the Blues win the FA Cup and Champions League in the next three weeks.
Due to City’s dominance this season, they have been established as early Premier League title favorites for next season, but Guardiola insists that this season has no bearing on their chances next year.

Guardiola argued that he never gets weary of winning because he is afraid of losing, and that he must ignore external predictions because they are “stupid comments.”

“Introduce me to a manager who doesn’t want to win,” Guardiola said. “I’m afraid of losing, I don’t want to be criticized, and I want my players to respect me. What we say and do is to achieve victory. I embrace my losses because I always acknowledge that our opponents may be superior to us and defeat us.
Therefore, when others say we failed or lost, it is as if they are scum. However, our opponents may be superior and defeat us. It is equivalent to dismissing the others. If our competitors defeat us, it is because they merit it. People’s claims that only Man City can win the Premier League next season are ridiculous.

“As much as you’re not in your mind, it’s because you recognize that those are idiotic remarks. However, despite the fact that they are not in your mind, they remain stupid remarks. Next season will be difficult because every team wants to defeat us. This is the difficulty.

“Next season, we will defend our throne for one year. It is ours for a year, and we will work to keep it. If they desire it, they must perform it better than we do. However, if this occurs, we will congratulate them.”

Guardiola insisted, looking ahead to the final games of the season, that City must treat their two finals as seriously as possible and disregard the predictions that they will undoubtedly win the treble.

He stated that United can defeat us. Inter could defeat us. They have won three Champions League titles, while we have none. However, we must make every effort to avert it.
