This week, the 24-year-old’s transfer will be finalized, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian tweeted, “New Arsenal player Kai Havertz has already concluded the initial portion of his medical examinations. Just awaiting the club’s signature on the contracts.
“Deal from Chelsea will be completed this week”
Since then, a photo of Havertz wearing the new Arsenal jersey has surfaced on Twitter.
The Germany international can be seen with a broad grin on his face prior to his potential transfer to the Emirates.
Former teammate Jorginho, who also made the move to north London in January, will be reunited with him.
Indeed, this is not the first time this week that Havertz has made headlines on Twitter after uploading a picture with Mateo Kovacic and a significant hint regarding his transfer to Arsenal.
The Croatian is close to signing with three-time champion Manchester City, and Havertz’s photo with the caption “We’re ready” risked upsetting Chelsea fans.
Meanwhile, Arteta is eager to have the versatile forward join his roster.
Arteta praised Havertz in an interview with the Spanish publication Marca, stating, “Talent comes at a price, and Arsenal is always interested in youthful players with experience.
“I reiterate that I am not discussing players from other organizations, but in the case of Kai, he has already demonstrated a great deal, including in the Champions League. He is a talented, versatile, 24-year-old athlete.”
Havertz has scored 32 goals in 139 appearances for Chelsea since signing for £71 million in 2020, including the goal that helped Chelsea defeat Manchester City to win the Champions League in 2021.
