Rashford, Varane, Martinez – Man United injury updates and expected return.

Manchester United has been beset by injuries throughout the entire season, and there is no sign of relief in the final weeks of the campaign.

Erik ten Hag has done a fantastic job keeping his team in contention for a Champions League spot and already winning a trophy despite missing several key players for extended periods of time, but the demanding schedule has began to take its toll. United have began to decline in recent weeks and are currently limping to the finish line.
United presently have injured players and concerns about another, but have received plenty of positive news this week ahead of their final three Premier League games and the FA Cup final against Manchester City. Here is the most recent information.

Marcus Rashford

United’s leading scorer has fought as hard as possible despite the wear and strain of a relentless season. Rashford has recently missed a few games with minor injuries, the most recent being Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Wolves.

As of Wednesday, he was back in training with the rest of the squad and is expected to play against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Scott McTominay

Since early April, when Manchester United defeated Everton 2-0, Scott McTominay has been unable to play in the center of the field. Ten Hag was pleased with his progress, stating that he was nearing a return against Wolves, and it appears that the manager’s options will be bolstered with his return this weekend.

McTominay joined Rashford in returning to the field on Wednesday, and while it is doubtful that he will start the game, he should provide an option off the bench if necessary.

20 May is his possible return date.

Marcel Sabitzer
McTominay’s return is fortunate for United, as Marcel Sabitzer has been declared out for the remainder of the season. The Bayern Munich loanee has made a positive impact since joining in January, but a knee injury prevents him from continuing in the season.

A torn meniscus has ended his season, and since no decision has been made regarding his long-term destiny, he may have played his final game for United.

The potential return date is preseason.

Lisandro Martinez

Sabitzer is not the only player who will not play again this season, as Lisandro Martinez’s season ended several weeks ago. The Argentine central defender, who has had a fantastic start to life in Manchester, fell to the ground unopposed in the closing minutes of the 2-2 draw with Sevilla, and it was later discovered that he had suffered a severe ankle injury.

The only piece of positive news is that Martinez is expected to make a full recovery prior to the start of the upcoming season.

The potential return date is preseason.

Raphael Varane Martinez’s centre-back partner Raphael Varane is no novice to the treatment room this season, and there were concerns when he was substituted late in Wolves’ victory. Fortunately, it was just a precaution. This week, the Frenchman has been in training and should be able to retain his starting position.

20 May is a possible return date.

Donny van de Beek
Donny van de Beek has also sustained a midfield injury for the Red Devils. The Dutchman was ruled out for the season with a knee injury after a collision against Saturday’s opponents in the previous match. The issue necessitated surgery, but Van de Beek underwent a successful operation and is currently recovering.

After a period of rehabilitation and extensive exercise work, he returned to the field on Thursday for an individual session. He is not expected to return before the end of the season, but his progress has been encouraging.

The potential return date is preseason.
