Real Madrid ‘in discussions to sign Chelsea Goalkeeper after Thibaut Courtois got injured
According to numerous rumours circulating in Spain, Real Madrid are in negotiations with Chelsea to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan after Thibaut Courtois suffered a serious injury. The injury forced Courtois to miss a significant amount of time in the lineup.
Due to the fact that Courtois tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while exercising on Thursday, Real Madrid are looking for a short-term substitute for the Belgian goalkeeper. Courtois could end up missing the entirety of the current season.
Andriy Lunin, a 24-year-old Ukrainian, is the only senior goalkeeper available for Los Blancos at this time. Prior to Courtois’ injury, Lunin had only made 12 appearances for the first team. On Saturday, Los Blancos will play Real Madrid in the opening match of the La Liga season.

Yassine Bounou was a player that Real Madrid wanted to acquire, but Sevilla’s asking price of €30 million has caused Los Blancos to look into other possibilities. In addition, the Moroccan is scheduled to participate in the African Cup of Nations competition that will take place in January.
Kepa was a potential acquisition for Real Madrid in January of 2018, but coach Zinedine Zidane blocked the deal. Instead, the Basque player moved to Chelsea from Athletic Club in the summer, just after Thibaut Courtois signed with Real.
After spending $25 million to acquire Robert Sanchez from Brighton this summer, Chelsea may suddenly have a spot open for the 28-year-old, despite the fact that Edoaurd Mendy has also moved on to play in Saudi Arabia.
Marcus Bettinelli, a former shot-stopper for Fulham who currently plays for Chelsea, is not likely to be trusted as Sanchez’s back-up, therefore the club may need to buy another goalkeeper if both Kepa and Sanchez decide to leave the club.

Mauricio Pochettino is still in the process of putting together his team and is looking to make several more acquisitions before the end of the month, when the transfer market will close.
As the Moises Caicedo drama continues to play out, the Blues have been mentioned in connection with “the next N’Golo Kante.”
